Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) was as a recipient of the Adolescent-Friendly Health Facility (AFHF) Level III award last September 18, 2019 at Blue Leaf Filipinas, Parañaque City.
The award was received by Ma. Mercy C. Coral, Chief Nurse and Dr. Leslie M. Capuno, Adolescent-Youth Program Manager in behalf of the Medical Center Chief Dr. Bryan O. Dalid.
Based on the Department of Health (DOH) data, there was a there were a total of 704 Adolescent-Friendly Health Facility (AFHF) of which 617 are Level I, 52 are Level II, and 35 are Level III. The DOH is targeting at least 20% increase in AFHFs per year. In recognition of their efforts, each of the 35th health facilities were given a trophy, insignia, and cash award amounting to 100,000 pesos.
These facilities shall provide “equitable, acceptable, accessible, appropriate, effective and quality comprehensive care and service” to enable “health living, well implemented, empowered and responsible adolescents”.
Thus, DRMC in continuing efforts to support DOH mandate, DRMC shall ensure that all adolescents will have access to comprehensive health care services in an adolescent-friendly environment. (Yan)
