The Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) was once again a recipient of this year’s Department of Health (DOH) 30 Star Awards. This award recognizes the healthcare institution’s best practices in the quality health care service delivery in achieving Universal Health Care. Hospitals were evaluated according to the criteria set for safety and infection control, service provision, customer and employees’ satisfaction, community-based projects/programs, quality improvements and their compliance with the assessment tools for Hospital Licensure.

In behalf of the Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Bryan O. Dalid, the DOH 30 Top 10 (Level III category) award was received by Mr. Carlito U. Pillerin, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) last September 17, 2019 at Pearlmont Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III initiated the DOH 30 Star Awards in 2018 where it gives recognition to 10 Level I hospitals, 10 Level II hospitals; and 10 Level III hospitals or a total of 30 hospitals nationwide. This is to encourage both private and public hospitals to continuously improve their services and to enhance their compliance to regulatory requirements.

It is indeed a recognition of the DRMC’s overall commitment to health care excellence and continually improve for its clients’ satisfaction. (Yan)
