Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) recently conducted a “Gender Sensitivity Training” last September 10-13, 2019, at the Heroben Homotel, Osmeña Extension, Purok Visayas, Tagum City.

To equip the DRMC employees with the proper attitude, knowledge and skills to respond to personal gender issues and to recognize women's different perceptions and interests arising from different social positions and gender roles, the DRMC has invited Cpt. Magdalina B.Canlobo (Fs) PA, Cpt. Lhugan Cliff Acuril (Inf) PA, Maj Davy E. Siao (Ags) PA , Maj Alberto B. Dabajo (Inf) PA, Maj Ariel A.Cabatbat (Mi) PA from Gender and Development Office (GADO) of the Philippine Army 10ID Infantry (Agila) Division as Resource Speakers.

This training was spearheaded by the DRMC Gender & Development (GAD) Committee Chairperson, Dr. Bryan O. Dalid, GAD Focal Point System Technical Working Group (GFPS TWG) - Mr.Edilberto L. Bundalo and GAD Focal Person, Kathlyn Lee F. Fuerzas.

As DRMC’s commitment to the Gender and Development (GAD) promotion and implementation, this training will continuously be conducted to empower both men and women of DRMC to be champions of equality in their communities. (Yan)

 

On September 17, 2019 – Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) joined the World Health Organization (WHO) as it simultaneously celebrated the first-ever World’s Patient Safety Day with this year’s theme of “Speak up for Patient Safety”.

Globally, 134 million adverse events contribute to 2.6 million deaths each year due to unsafe care. Patient safety has become a global health priority. This celebration brought stakeholders together in an effort to reduce the unintended harm caused by health care and advocates “No one should be harmed while seeking health care.” 

Dr. Marian Frances C. Ysaac, Cluster Head of Health Family Development Region XI served as the resource speaker for the World Patient Safety Day Celebration. (Yan)

   

    Good news for DRMC employees, GSIS and DRMC had finally signed a Memorandum of Agreement for GFAL or GSIS Financial Assistance Loan represented by Mr. Oscar Paul B. Fortuna, GSIS Tagum City branch manager, Dr. Bryan O. Dalid, DRMC’s Medical Center Chief II and Ms. Rhodora M. Boiser, DRMC’s HRMS head, during the Monday’s weekly convocation held at DRMC gym last September 16, 2019.

The Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) conducted a Planning and Budget Deliberation (PBD), for the year 2020 started last June 13 and ended last July 12, 2019 at Conference Room B, Administrative Building.

The PBD Committee served as the panel for the presentation of the different units for their Work and Financial Plan (WFP) & Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP) for each Fiscal Year.

With the collaborative efforts of the following members of the committee: Marvin V. Bohol, PBDC Chairperson; Kathlyn Lee F. Fuerzas, Designate Planning Officer, Karen Kate M. Lisbos, Designate Budget Officer; Rhodora M. Boiser, BAC Chairperson; Mercedita D. Panuncio, BAC Vice – Chairperson; Duenn C. Mulod, Materials Management Section (MMS) Head; Maria Victoria S. Aquino, Procurement Section Head; Division Chiefs, Secretariats and representative from major concerned units, the deliberation was conducted accordingly.

The said committee is tasked to ensure alignment and synchronize the operational plans with financial plans. Effective budgeting and expenditure management can only be realized with the necessary inputs from all DOH units, particularly through timely submission of good quality plans.

       The objectives of the deliberation are to: Formalize and increase efficiency in the planning and budget- setting process; Ensure that operational plans are aligned to DOH strategic policies and thrusts; Ensure that operational plans, work and financial plans, and budgets are synchronize, and align; and Maintain transparency in the planning and budgeting process.

Moreover, in line with the implementation of the PGS in the institution, the committee aims to achieve the highest rate of 5 which is “The organization has linked its budget to the strategy. Through this, the organization can derive provision for strategy-related expenses, while synchronizing the strategy with operating expenses and capital expenditures.” ,thus, establishing a sound public finance management.
