   With the gradual resumption of Non-COVID-19 essential hospital services, there is a need to resume other hospital operations and patient support activities in order to ensure the functionalities of the said services. However, return of such activities shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Modified General Community Quarantine. Hence, the following guidelines are established to ensure that public safety is not compromised in the resumption of the said Non-COVID-19 essential services.

As part of the Continuous Program Improvement (CQI) initiatives,  Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) has conducted a series of Awareness Orientation on Performance Governance System (PGS) and International Organization Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 to its personnel which was held last January 15, February 7 and March 2, 2020.

          This activity is an important feature for PGS Cascading Framework in compliance to the Proficiency Level requirement facilitated by the Planning and Strategy Management Office (PSMO) which guides the organization in achieving the objectives based on the DRMC’s strategy map and balanced scorecard. These systems are implemented to ensure that quality service delivery is a shared responsibility and must be a way of life for the institution to exceed clients’ satisfaction. (Yan)

 

Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) Performance Governance System (PGS) Core Team conducted another Multi-Sector Governance Council (MSGC) meeting last December 3-4, 2019 at Eden Nature Park and Resort, Davao City together with the six (6) new partners from the following agencies: Local Government Unit of Tagum City, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office XI, 10th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army (10ID), Development Academy of the Philippines sa Mindanao (DAP), Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) Regional Office XI and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) Regional Office XI.

DRMC has four (4) existing MSGC partners from Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Office XI, San Pedro College, Department of Health (DOH) Regional Office XI and National Commission for Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Davao del Norte Provincial Office.

The MSGC partners will act as advisory council to DRMC and will contribute to the implementation of PGS and in reaching the goals of DRMC in becoming a globally competitive healthcare institution by 2022.

On the principle that a clean, orderly and beautiful work environment enhances efficiency and client satisfaction, the Davao Regional Medical Center’s (DRMC) 5S Committee has conducted the first 3S (Sort, Set in order/Straighten/Systematize and Shine/Sweep) audits last October 25, November 23 and December 13, 2019 respectively.

 

The 5S Committee was established to ensure that the 5S Japanese good housekeeping techniques (seiri or sort, seiton  or set in order/straighten/systematize, seiso or sweep/shine, seikitsu or standardize , and shitsuke or self-discipline/sustain) are implemented to improve efficiency in the hospital, promote service excellence and that “everyday is 5S day” will be institutionalized among its employees. The Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) retained its certification with International Organization Standardization (ISO) which validates the hospital’s consistent efforts in maintaining its standards in patient safety and customer service at par with global norms.

The recently concluded 2nd external surveillance audit was headed by Mr. Paul Timothy C. Hupanda from the Certification International Philippines (CIP) last November 15, 2019.

          The ISO journey of DRMC has come a long way which began in 2015 from ISO 9001:2008 standards to the updated 2015 ISO version and have exemplary surpass the hurdles along the way in striving to provide quality healthcare services. (SP)
