            The Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) launched the BIDA Solusyon sa COVID-19: Batukan ang COntraVIDa a national campaign of the Department of Health (DOH) last September 25, 2020 at DRMC gym facilitated by the Performance Governance System (PGS) Committee on Advocacy with the Health Education Promotion Office (HEPO).    

The activity was supported by the Medical Center Chief, Dr. Bryan O. Dalid. It aims to encourage everyone to take an active role in the fight against our common enemy: COVID-19 (the "COntraVIDa") by practicing the behaviours simplified into 4 letters - BIDA; B (Bawal walang mask); I (I-sanitize ang mga kamay, iwas-hawak sa mga bagay); D (Dumistansya ng isang metro); A (Alamin ang totoong impormasyon).

          The event started with a motorcade within Tagum City followed by Commitment Signing and acceptance of BIDA Solusyon banners and flyers attended by Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Davao del Norte, Dr. Eleanor H. Salva, Health Education Promotion Officer (HEPO) of Tagum City Ms. Rae Katherine Apura, RN, Municipal Representatives from Asuncion, Ms. Kristine Mae Dorotan, Ms. Anthieza Laarni Ganal of Kapalong and Mr. Arvin Ronald Serrano from Talaingod. The activity ended with the oath taking of the identified BIDA Bastonero/Bastonera who shall intensify the implementation of BIDA Solusyon in DRMC.

           For the closing remarks, Ms. Ma. Mercy C. Coral, Chief Nurse/Chaiperson of Committee on Advocacy reminded everyone that BIDA Solusyon must be our way of living as we fight against COVID-19. Together, we can #BIDAsolusyon  - Yan

Adopting the new normal, Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) conducted the Multi-Sector Governance Council (MSGC) Virtual Meeting last August 14, 2020 facilitated by the Planning and Strategy Management Office (PSMO) and discussed strategies towards the Proficiency stage of the Performance Governance System (PGS) pathway.

DRMC-MSGC Chairperson Dr. Annabelle P. Yumang, Regional Director of Department of Health (DOH) Region XI presided the meeting attended by the field experts from multi-sector organizations that serve multi-faceted roles as the agency’s stakeholders, partners, and independent advisory body.

       During the meeting, the MSGC formed the sub-committees for proposed led-projects. The Committee on Governance with Dr. Bryan O. Dalid as Chairperson and Director Adams D. Torres of Civil Service Commission (CSC) Region XI as Co-Chairperson shall be responsible in reviewing the policies and procedures that guide all members in the performance of their mandate and shall ensure that DRMC is fulfilling its mission to promote good governance, accountability & transparency. On the other hand, The Committee on Resource Planning and Generation shall generate additional resources to support DRMC breakthrough programs. This committee is chaired by Dr. Julmin T. Tapsirul II and Dir. Ma. Lourdes D. Lim of National Economic and Development of Authority (NEDA) as Co-Chairperson. While the Committee on Advocacy with Ms. Ma. Mercy C. Coral as Chairperson and Dr. Desiderio N. Noveno Jr. of San Pedro College (SPC) as Co-Chairperson is tasked to support the DRMC’s thrust of promoting good governance by advocating the DRMC’s strategy map to its stakeholders and provides DRMC with assistance and guidance on communicating advocacy programs/activities to build meaningful and lasting partnerships with key sectors and stakeholders.

           The MSGC as an external advisory group is committed to guide DRMC in realizing its vision in providing continuous quality improvement in healthcare service delivery at par with global standards. -Yan

 

   With the gradual resumption of Non-COVID-19 essential hospital services, there is a need to resume other hospital operations and patient support activities in order to ensure the functionalities of the said services. However, return of such activities shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Modified General Community Quarantine. Hence, the following guidelines are established to ensure that public safety is not compromised in the resumption of the said Non-COVID-19 essential services.

Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) celebrated the Hospital Week 2020 the new normal way with the theme: “Hospitals as Champions in People-Centered Care in the Fight against COVID-19” and culminated through online streaming last August 28, 2020.

The Medical Center Chief, Dr. Bryan O. Dalid and Dr. Mitzie Lou C. Osabel of Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases (ERID) Team /Infectious Disease Specialist delivered comprehensive information of the DRMC’s COVID-19 response and updates since the breakout of the disease in the country last January 2020. The activity also gave the DRMC employees information on how the staff and the institution as a whole prepared and fight the pandemic through continuously offering services to the people amidst the crisis. Dr. Dalid addressed concerns regarding Out-Patient services and emphasized that while the city is under community quarantine, everyone is encouraged to maximize the virtual consultation or telemedicine services. On the other hand, Dr. Osabel reminded everybody to stay vigilant and cautious as anyone is potentially infectious and to observe minimum public health standards.

Moreover, week-long activities were done online which include Lunch Break Pasaya Bonanza (What’s in the Box, Virtual Wheel of Fortune), Online Quiz bowl and Online Photo Collage Contest participated by the employees. - Yan

                                                              

As part of the Continuous Program Improvement (CQI) initiatives,  Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) has conducted a series of Awareness Orientation on Performance Governance System (PGS) and International Organization Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 to its personnel which was held last January 15, February 7 and March 2, 2020.

          This activity is an important feature for PGS Cascading Framework in compliance to the Proficiency Level requirement facilitated by the Planning and Strategy Management Office (PSMO) which guides the organization in achieving the objectives based on the DRMC’s strategy map and balanced scorecard. These systems are implemented to ensure that quality service delivery is a shared responsibility and must be a way of life for the institution to exceed clients’ satisfaction. (Yan)
