The successful conduction of the 4Rs Training was grazed by speakers from Manila and was also attended by participants from different organizations such as the Philippine National Police, City Social Welfare and Development and Provincial and City Legal Offices.

      The Enhanced Training in Handling Abused Women and Children was conducted by Davao Regional Medical Center to recognize abuse in clients, record all the pertinent information in establishing the presence and validity of abuse, formulate a medical management plan and to use multidisciplinary approach in handling clients.

      This 2-day training held on November 17 and 18, 2016 respectively, was spearheaded by the Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Social Worker and the Nursing Department. It was conducted mainly at the DRMC Amphitheatre and other group works and activities were done separately in the adjacent conference rooms inside the OPD Building.


         As Davao Regional Medical Center celebrated the Elderly Filipino Week, the Public Health Department together with the Department of Health (DOH) gave influenza and pneumonia immunization to our dear senior citizens. These youngsters at heart, who mostly are parents of DRMC staff, availed the free vaccination conducted at the Conference Room A, OPD Building on October 25, 2016.




Numerous senior citizens from Tagum and as far as Compostela Valley Province as well as neighboring towns and cities flocked together to Davao Regional Medical Center to get their free flu and pneumococcal shots as part of the Elderly Filipino Week.

        This whole-day activity had amassed a total of 104 senior citizens who went home protected against the common sickness among elderly that is pneumonia or flu. Influenza immunization is effected for a year while pneumococcal vaccine lasts for 5 years inside the body. The vaccination was provided by PHD nurses and staff, select nurses from wards and Internal Medicine doctors. (DRMC-PHD)


In celebration of the Davao Regional Medical Center’s (DRMC) 42nd Anniversary, the Mass Blood Donation Campaign was launched with the theme “Dugo Mo, Buhay Ko”, last January 26, 2016 at the Out-Patient Department.

This year’s theme was aimed to eliminate the shortage of blood, raise awareness about the blood shortage, inform the public about the purpose of bloodletting, and to raise health awareness.


On October 7th, 2016, Davao Regional Medical Center celebrated the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The said event held at the hospital gymnasium was participated by selected DRMC staff .Various activities were done such as lectures, consultations, booths offering freebies as well as flying of balloon to close the program.


It is said that breast cancer is already the leading type of cancer among women in the country today. A study by multinational pharmaceutical company showed that the Philippines is one of the top 3 Asian countries with the highest incidence of breast cancer. Moreover, that same study found out that the country has the highest breast cancer-related mortalities in Asia.

In response to the abovementioned situation, DRMC’s objective in holding the said event is to raise awareness on the importance of early detection of breast cancer among DRMC Health Care Providers.

To provide unique health care needs of our adolescents and youth, the Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) puts in place the DRMC Adolescent and Youth Wellness Clinic which was launch last May 19, 2016.
