         As Davao Regional Medical Center celebrated the Elderly Filipino Week, the Public Health Department together with the Department of Health (DOH) gave influenza and pneumonia immunization to our dear senior citizens. These youngsters at heart, who mostly are parents of DRMC staff, availed the free vaccination conducted at the Conference Room A, OPD Building on October 25, 2016.

 

 

 

Numerous senior citizens from Tagum and as far as Compostela Valley Province as well as neighboring towns and cities flocked together to Davao Regional Medical Center to get their free flu and pneumococcal shots as part of the Elderly Filipino Week.

        This whole-day activity had amassed a total of 104 senior citizens who went home protected against the common sickness among elderly that is pneumonia or flu. Influenza immunization is effected for a year while pneumococcal vaccine lasts for 5 years inside the body. The vaccination was provided by PHD nurses and staff, select nurses from wards and Internal Medicine doctors. (DRMC-PHD)
