The Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) retained its certification with International Organization Standardization (ISO) which validates the hospital’s consistent efforts in maintaining its standards in patient safety and customer service at par with global norms.

The recently concluded 2nd external surveillance audit was headed by Mr. Paul Timothy C. Hupanda from the Certification International Philippines (CIP) last November 15, 2019.

          The ISO journey of DRMC has come a long way which began in 2015 from ISO 9001:2008 standards to the updated 2015 ISO version and have exemplary surpass the hurdles along the way in striving to provide quality healthcare services. (SP)

Anchored with the Universal Health Care Act’s (UHC) main objective of wide access and quality healthcare that is accessible to all Filipinos, the 47th Malasakit Center in the country was inaugurated at Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) last October 21, 2019 led by Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, who was the main proponent of the project.

The Malasakit Center is a “one-stop shop” for all financial assistance provided by different government agencies such as Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Philippine Amusement Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to serve the indigent patients for their treatment or hospitalization. The center will cater and serve people not only from Tagum City but also those who are from the nearby cities and municipalities within the region.  In his speech, Senator Go said, “Ang malasakit center ay bahay lang po ito na one-stop shop. Ginawa siyang bahay o kuwarto para lahat ng pasyente doon na pupunta para matulungan. Pera po ito ng mga tao para sa mga tao and the funds will come from the budget of the agencies”.

With a grateful heart, DRMC’s Medical Center Chief, Dr. Bryan O. Dalid expressed his gratitude to Senator Bong Go and President Rodrigo Duterte in establishing and institutionalizing the Malasakit Center most especially at DRMC. (Yan)

The Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) was once again a recipient of this year’s Department of Health (DOH) 30 Star Awards. This award recognizes the healthcare institution’s best practices in the quality health care service delivery in achieving Universal Health Care. Hospitals were evaluated according to the criteria set for safety and infection control, service provision, customer and employees’ satisfaction, community-based projects/programs, quality improvements and their compliance with the assessment tools for Hospital Licensure.

In behalf of the Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Bryan O. Dalid, the DOH 30 Top 10 (Level III category) award was received by Mr. Carlito U. Pillerin, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) last September 17, 2019 at Pearlmont Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III initiated the DOH 30 Star Awards in 2018 where it gives recognition to 10 Level I hospitals, 10 Level II hospitals; and 10 Level III hospitals or a total of 30 hospitals nationwide. This is to encourage both private and public hospitals to continuously improve their services and to enhance their compliance to regulatory requirements.

It is indeed a recognition of the DRMC’s overall commitment to health care excellence and continually improve for its clients’ satisfaction. (Yan)
